Building a Single Source of Truth Across ERP, Commerce and Marketing

One agreed number across every source

The Challenge

Sales reporting means pulling from NetSuite, the eCommerce platform and POS, then reconciling the three in spreadsheets. Different teams report different revenue, and the argument about which number is right consumes more time than producing them did.

Inventory data is fragmented. Customer data is split across eCommerce, the ERP and the email platform with no unified view. Satisfaction surveys live in a separate tool with no link to purchase behaviour, so nobody can answer whether unhappy customers actually stop buying. Month-end routinely runs past five days.

Our Approach

Data governance framework. Define which system owns which data before building anything. NetSuite masters financial transactions, inventory and customer records. eCommerce masters session and conversion data. POS masters in-store detail. Marketing platforms master campaign performance. Nothing overrides across a boundary.

Integration layer. Extend the Celigo architecture so all transaction data reaches NetSuite in near real-time, classified consistently by channel, location, customer and product hierarchy. Consistent classification at the point of entry is what makes the reporting layer simple later.

SuiteQL reporting. A query library that absorbs the awkward parts of the NetSuite data model. Sales by channel, by location and by class, budget against actual, stock on hand and customer lifetime value, all queryable directly rather than exported and rebuilt.

Satisfaction data. Connect the survey platform to NetSuite through Celigo, so scores sit against customer records and can be read alongside purchase history.

The Outcome

Month-end typically drops from more than five days to under two. Finance reports from one source. Operational teams run their own SuiteQL queries without queueing behind an analyst.

The governance framework is the part that keeps paying. Every new integration starts with data ownership already settled, which removes the argument that otherwise happens at the start of each project.
